Shootin', no, Racin' Stars

Guess what's on at 9:30pm, AEST, following Lost on Channel Seven from this Thursday night?

The eleventh season of The Amazing Race (TAR)! Yes, Channel Seven (in its wisdom) has decided to air season eleven before season ten (just like they did last year when they aired season nine before season eight), but unlike last year, the decision this time around means season ten (when we see it later in 2007) will have been 'spoilt' for us.

Because you see, season eleven is an ALL-STARS version of the Race! They're not using actual celebrities, but they've called back certain teams from the previous seasons of the Race (including two teams from the as-yet-unaired-in-Australia tenth season - and telling us where they finished, therefore removing all elements of suspense and surprise when we eventually see the missing season). Hopefully they won't ALSO spoil for us the names of the people who won the tenth season, but that's just as likely.

Thank you, Channel Seven. You really know how to treat your viewers like crap.

Anyway, if you're a fan of the Race, make sure you're watching The Amazing Race All-Stars (TARAS) this Thursday night!

And because you can always rely on BEVIS, I'll be posting a weekly episode recap on this blog, so keep checking back to read my thoughts - and add your own in the comments! The complete series of TARAS posts will be listed in the sidebar menu on the right.

As usual, if you're in a part of the world that is ahead of us Aussies with seasons ten and eleven of TAR, please don't give anything away in the comments. Thank you.

Woo hoo! Very excited.

Especially cos that means regular Bevis blogs. Wife, child, home, work, blogging......where are your priorities boy!

Think of all of us who log in each day in the hope that the increasingly illusive Bevis will have blogged and......no joy!

So, bring on TAR!!!

hey bevis, long time reader, first time poster to one of the two of your very entertaining blogs. this is indeed good news though silly (but not all that entirely surprising) that channel 7 is skipping a season ahead :P

also i can't say i'm too impressed to see rob & amber's smug faces again - is this their full time job now, appearing on reality tv shows!?

Colls Bolls, shucks – you’ll make me blush! As for your “all of us who log in each day” remark, I think you’re alone, there. But I appreciate the vote of confidence. Hopefully it will be an exciting season of TAR, and won’t spoil too much fun from season ten.

Serenity Later, welcome! Thank you so much for de-cloaking and being so generous with the praise! I have to point out that the official TARAS website (which I DON’T recommend you visit because it'll spoil everything for you – but I had to visit VERY CAREFULLY, in order to get the images I’ll need of each team for my reviews) lists Rob & Amber’s “professions” as Reality TV Stars (which made me scoff). So you’re spot on! :)
